A client for whom we had designed a bar seven years ago called us to do a new project in the same place but with a different concept. Due to the particular shape of the floor plan, the fact that there are no windows to the exterior and the long tunnel as an entrance, the challenge was to give the place a feeling of openness. By working with photography artist Lara Becerra we decided to use forest images, thus creating a virtual feeling of windows to this exterior. A wooden deck which welcomes the guests at the entrance takes them through the tunnel, becomes a floating dock which serves as a lounge area, then unfolds to the ceiling traveling across the whole area and unfolding down again in the vip area as a final platform. Taking advantage of the floor height we had, we decided to place the lounge at the highest point, four steps down is the dinning area. At the back we have the bar which ends in a degustation table and becomes part of the see-through kitchen giving this eating area a very cozy feeling. Lighting the place was an important issue so we decided to use the Artemide Pipe lamps reinforcing the concept of nature with its stem-like form. The furniture was custom made for the place by Esrawe Diseño using nature patterns printed on the fabrics. Finally the place was given its last touch with video installations projected by different conceptual artists of natures variations.
